Duties: Utilize software to produce maps, digitize data from geographic information services.
Location: Universities or cultural resource management companies.
Job Type: Part-time to permanent, sometimes benefited.
Availability of Employment: The past decade has seen the development of Geographic Information Systems as a career; and archaeology has not been slow in including GIS as a subdiscipline. However, since it is a relatively new field, the job market is difficult to assess at the moment.
Education Level Required: BA, plus specialized training; archaeology background helpful but not necessary.
