An archaeological site identified in a sediment core placed in the bottom of Lake Susupe, Saipan, Micronesia in the Pacific Islands, has returned a C14 date of 6,860 BC, about the same age as Kuk Swamp, New Guinea, but still, one of the oldest sites in the Pacific.
