German Archaeologist Kidnapped

German archaeologist Susanne Osthoff was kidnapped with her driver in Baghdad this week, where she had been working with the relief effort bringing medical supplies from Jordan. A 43-year-old from Munich, Ms. Osthoff is married to a Jordanian citizen and has an 11-year old daughter. She has worked at the Sumerian site of Isin, under the auspices of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, and most recently at Assur.
