The Pennyslvania Game Hunting Commission gave preliminary approval to the use of the atlatl and dart, a hunting weapon first used about 20,000 years ago, for use by game hunters during deer season this fall. I believe, but you probably ought not to quote me, that this is the first game hunting commission in the states to allow the use of atlatls, which are today primarily used in primitive skills contests. I went to one of those last year, called the Raging Cow, and it was a hoot, even if all of my shots fell short.Ancient Spear Weapon OK'd For Deer Hunt in Pennsylvania
