Magic Flutes: Neanderthal Bone Flutes in China

An article in Natural History by Zhang Juzhong and Lee Yun Kuen describes bird bone flutes recovered from the Neolithic site of Jiahu, dated to at least 8,000 years ago. A special online version of the article published in the September 2005 issue, including all of the figures.
