Smoke Pfeiffer's Directory of Archaeological Societies: Regional

Since 1997, a version of a fabulous text directory of archaeology societies and journals and newsletters from (the fabulous!) Smoke Pfeiffer has resided on this website. The list contains addresses and contact information for archaeological groups all over the world, and although the list is still useful for someone locating a society in his or her region, sad to say the contact information is nearly a decade out of date now. I'm determined to make this a useful resource again, so I'm slowly locating websites for the various societies, and in this way, maintaining a list of addresses and contact names will no longer be necessary. So far I've completed the national, international and regional groups; state societies are next, to be followed by journals and newsletters. There are other core resources on this website that all desperately need the same kind of attention; the Guide to Graduate Schools in Archaeology and the World Atlas of Archaeology, to name two. I promise to get to them one day soon.
