Archaeologists investigating a Catholic shrine in the Mexico city suburb of Iztapalapa have discovered a 60 foot tall pyramid, part of the ancient Teotihuacan (150 BC-700 AD) culture. Said to have been built about 500 AD, the pyramid has lain unidentified beneath a Catholic shrine called Hill of the Stars (El Cerro de la Estrella) since 1833, when residents chose the hill for the site of the annual Easter Passion Play, a celebration in which the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ is reenacted.
