Archaeology Dig 2006: Schaefer Farm Sites

The 2006 University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley archaeology field school is scheduled for June 6 through 23, and will take place at several Late Paleo-Indian and Archaic archaeological sites on a farm in Trempealeau County, Western Wisconsin. Twelve students will learn the practical application of the basic skills used in the excavation of archaeological sites, including surveying techniques, methods of excavation, compilation of field data, and laboratory analysis through participation in an actual archaeological field project. 4 undergraduate credits. This photograph is of a previous season in Trempeauleau County and was provided courtesy project director Thomas Pleger.
