Easter Island, also called Rapa Nui, is one of the best known archaeological sites in the world, and no wonder. Recently I heard from archaeologist Jose Miguel Ramirez-Aliaga, who told me about his website at the Center for Rapa Nui Studies at the University of Valparaiso (Chile). This website has has several extensive chapters on the archaeology and anthropology of Easter Island, some translated from a recent Castilian book into Spanish.
This photograph of Rapa Nui was taken by Jennifer Lavris, whose
Rapa Nui photo collection on Flickr includes a few photos from the fieldwork she helped with in 1996.
