Dr. Zahi Hawass, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt and Director of excavations at the Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, and Bahariya Oasis, offers a special public talk, "The Riddle of the Pyramids and the Magic of King Tut," Thursday, February 1 at 6:00 p.m. in the Harrison Auditorium of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Philadelphia.Tickets to the program, which is co-sponsored by The Franklin Institute Science Museum, are $10 per person. An optional reception and book signing with Dr. Hawass, author of numerous books on ancient Egypt, features Middle Eastern-style hors d'oeuvres (and cash bar) for US $50 (US $35 for Penn Museum members). Advance reservations are strongly recommended and tickets for the lecture and the reception may be purchased through the Annenberg Center Box Office, 215/898-3900, Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, Noon to 6:00 p.m.
