This video by Kansas State University anthropology professor Michael Wesch is a great introduction to the Web 2.0 initiative and what that means. Although this video is not about archaeology, I've now seen it three or four times and I think it's about the future, and god knows that's what studying the past has always really been about. Wesch is the blogleader of the group blog called Digital Ethnography, where you can find other versions of Wesch's video and additional commentary on it, including a fairly dyspeptic response from Corey the Raven.

Hey there, I’m a new blogger coming from Steining, Austria who found you on http://archaeology.about.com/b/2007/02/14/video-of-the-week-web-20-the-machine-is-using-us.htm. Would you have any ideas for those considering blogging? I’m working on launching
my own website soon but I don’t really know where to begin. Do you think I should start off with a free site like WordPress or invest some cash into a pay site? I’m confronted with quite a few options and it’s all so overwhelming… What would you say?
