which were dragged, shoved, and wrestled into a discernible pattern by our Neolithic ancestors some 4,000 to 6,000 years ago.

The most famous of these is Stonehenge, of course---but Stonehenge is not remotely the only megalithic marvel in the world. These enormous stone collections can be found in Ireland, England, Wales, Malta, France, North Africa, and some far flung isolated cases.

I must admit: I have been to none of these wonderful places, but after careful consideration, reading, and searching on the Internet and in my filing cabinets and local libraries, I have selected five places that I would go in a heartbeat to see megalithic monuments. You, my wise readership, may have other opinions, which we would love to hear, so by all means comment away.
