Today's site of the day is the site of Ephesus,
located in Western Turkey about sixty miles south of the modern town of Izmir.
Occupied continuously between the 3rd millennium through today, the best thing about Ephesus, speaking from a tourist's standpoint, is its variety of ruins. The oldest occupations are dated to the Neolithic period (can't see those), but you can see ruins of the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine architecture dated from the most recent occupations.
