The Upper Paleolithic rockshelter called Chauvet Cave is our site of the day, because it is one of the oldest paleolithic cave art sites on the planet,
and yet one of the most recently disocovered. Chauvet is located in the lovely Pont-d'Arc Valley of Ardèche, France, and it was discovered in 1994 by Jean-Marie Chauvet.
