The Llangors (also spelled Llangorse) Crannóg is a medieval colony which was built on a stony man-made island (or crannóg) in the Llangorse Lake in Brecon Beacons National Park, near Powys in Wales.

Traditionally, the site is the remains of the royal residence called Brycheiniog, built betwen AD 889-893. Brycheiniog is associated with the Anglo-Saxon queen, Aethelflaed, who in the 10th century AD sent her army into Wales to attack the site.

But you'll just have to click on through to read more about the fascinating island of Llangors Crannóg.
