The archaeological site of San Pedro de Atacama in Chile,
Monday's Site of the Day, is an outlier of the Tiwanaku empire, and about 800 kilometers away from the capital city, the ruins of which lie on Lake Titicaca.
The most interesting thing---well, in fact there are several interesting things about San Pedro, related to the colonial efforts of the Tiwanakus, but there are also a set of geoglyphs in the Atacama desert adjacent to the site, of which this image is just one. The glyphs probably have components from Tiwanaku and the Inca civilization.
