Site of the Day: Mawangui (China)

Today's site is Mawangui, a Han Dynasty city in a suburb of Changsha, Hunan Province, where three tombs belonging to the Marquis of Dai, Li Dang [died 186 BC]; Lady Dai [died after 168 BC]; and their son [d. 168 BC] were discovered back in the 1970s. Preservation of this site was amazing, with lacquered coffins and silk tapestries--but you really should click on through to read more about it.
