For the fifth year running, SAFE (Saving Antiquities for Everyone) is holding a candlelight vigil, calling for a global moment to remember the looting of the Iraq Museum in April 2003.
SAFE is a nonprofit organization based in New Jersey, dedicated to preserving cultural heritage world wide. Each year, members of SAFE schedule local vigils in places all over the world, to take place between April 10 and 12, to commemorate the destruction at the Iraqi Museum, and "to acknowledge that we are all responsible for the protection of our shared cultural heritage."
