Harrison Eitlejorg II is one of the pioneers of electronic publication of archaeological research. His CSA Newsletter, now in its 20th year, has discussed--and implemented--several enhancements to scholarly communication, such as web site reviews and other ongoing discussions.

An article of Eitlejorg's called "The Electronic Monograph: A Scholarly Necessity or the Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow?" printed in Volume XX, Number 3 of the CSA Newsletter, begins a discussion about the future of publishing electronic monographs, an article well worth reading. In addition, comments from others have extended the discussion to include possible venues for such publication, and how the current technology might let us work toward collaborative scholarship.

Eitlejorg invites additional comments to this interesting discussion.
