Interesting article in the journal New Scientist this week, an open access article even, one you can read it without logging in or paying for it:
New Scientist: How warfare shaped human evolution
It's a thoughtful article, that looks at what anthropologists currently think about the origins of warfare. I just hope we're not looking at a reason for people to be fatalistic about war. So, the reason we go to war is not our fault, we're just hard-wired that way? I would like to hope that cultural evolution might overcome our genetic stupidity. Why else do we evolve if not to overcome our genetics?
