Today's Quiz of the Week is on the The Battle of the Little Bighorn, an icon of truly bad American military policy, bad in so many ways I can't count them. Battlefield archaeology is a fascinating subject in and of itself, but the politics and policies of Custer's Last Stand are certainly worthy of the dozens of books (and movies) written about it.

Battlefield Archaeology A few years ago, I picked five battlefield sites to profile, sites that you can go and visit in the US and UK that have had archaeological studies done on them. Have a favorite that I missed?

I personally have to question your comment about the battle being an icon for bad military policy but that’s for another day. The thumbnail photo you titled “tombstones” are actually battlefield makers as no one is buried under them! Surely, someone responsible for an archaeological Twitter post should have been aware of that.
Oh, duh (slaps forehead). Thanks!
