Tara is a multi-faceted Neolithic site in Ireland, with a megalithic passage tomb, a ring fort, a 'wood henge', standing stones, and other structures, built at various times beginning about 5,000 years ago. The symposium will include 40 professional papers on the current scholarship.
Hosted by the University College of Dublin, the first session begins 7:30 pm Irish Standard Time (GMT+1) October 23, 2009, with full day sessions on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Check the UCD website for the schedule.
