Castillo de Teayo is a Huastec city in the state of Veracruz, which was colonized by the Aztecs and their allies around 1470.

The ancient city which has not yet been extensively excavated is the ancient part of modern town of Castillo de Teayo. Right in the middle of the town square is a well-preserved pyramid with three levels and a central stairway, topped by a one-room masonry temple.

This is one of the sites in Veracruz that desperately needs to be studied in detail. It also is one of the places off the beaten path that really rewards the effort to get there.
Good morning. I was living in Castillo de Teayo, Ver. The frist years of my life. It is interesting to see how people originary from this twon in Mexico are always friendly and interested in preserve thier culture. during the mont of octover they have a celebration which consists in collecting candlelights that will bring to the piramid and the stairway is lighed up with all these candles, while all the people can see it from far. It is a town where different types of fruits can be grown which makes it even more ingteresting for visitors, fruitds such as; mangoes, guayabas, chalahuites, anonas, guanabanas, platanos, duranznos, humos, guayas, tamarindos, and many many more.
