The immigration from Asia came across the Aluetian Islands when the sea and Islands were much higher. The elongation of the Aluetians over time was tectonic and the Island chain slumped. There is a large ancient settlement submerged midway across the straits. It was discovered years ago but the significance was never appreciated. I wish that more attention would be paid to it so we could learn more about the migrants.
