How to Deal With a Cold Climate in the Field
From your Archaeology Guide

Keeping warm on those wintry days in the field isn't rocket science.

Difficulty Level: Easy    Time Required: 30 minutes

Here's How:
  1. Wear proper clothing: long underwear is a must, and lots of layers works best.
  2. A hat is absolutely vital; a warm ski cap works best.
  3. Cover your face up; use a scarf or face mask.
  4. Wear gloves; glove liners inside your work gloves is fine.
  5. Be sure to move around a lot; flap your arms and stomp your feet to keep the feeling in.
  6. Take warming breaks at regular intervals
  7. Try to take a lunch break inside out of the wind.

Tips:

  1. Some supervisors are impervious to the cold or any bad weather; don't be afraid to stand up for yourself if the weather is really nasty.
