How to Identify a Real Archaeologist
From your Archaeology Guide

On occasion someone will tell you he's an archaeologist. Here's how you can you tell the Indiana Joneses from the Illinois Smiths.

Difficulty Level: Average    Time Required: 10 minutes

Here's How:
  1. Is his face deeply tanned and the skin leather-like?
  2. Are his hands and fingers scratched and beaten up? Blackened nails a plus.
  3. Is his nose sunburned and somewhat bulbous at the end?
  4. Is he wearing his uniform? -- blue jeans, cowboy or farmer hat, archaeology t-shirt,boots
  5. Are his boots the most expensive thing he's wearing?
  6. Is the right back pocket of his blue jeans cut at the bottom (trowel damage, be sure to check the left if he's left-handed)
  7. Does he have squint lines around his eyes, even if he's only 25?
  8. Did he order beer? Extra points if it's bottled and local.

Tips:

  1. Give one point for each "Yes;" and three points if #9 achieves the desired effect.
