Definition: The Monteoru Culture is the name given to the Early and Middle Bronze Age culture of the piedmont region of Muntenia and the Romanian Moldavia. The roots of the culture have been noted beginning about 3000 BC, and end about 1600 BC, when it is replaced by the Noua culture. The Monteoru culture is named after the Monteoru site near Sarata Monteoru, Muntenia, in central Romania.
