Eden House
A colonial period occupation in North Carolina; excavations by NC Department of Transportation archaeologists.

Halifax
Historical site on Roanoke River, occupied from 1760-1840. Not much information here.

Martindale-McGinnis
A 19th century plantation site located in New Hanover County; excavations led by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Occaneechi
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, archaeological and ethnographic research at this 18th century Native American town.

Queen Anne's Revenge
A shipwreck off the North Carolina coast, thought to be the flagship of the 18th century pirate Blackbeard; from the North Carolina Maritime Museum.

The Roanoke Island Freedman's Colony
An island between North Carolina's mainland and the Outer Banks, refuge for thousands of African-American slaves during the Civil War; history and documents only (the site hasn't been found archaeologically).
