Who: The University of Iowa, Department of Anthropology

Description: The course, 113:199, offered by the Department of Anthropology, will offer two sections. Week 1 will be for those who have had no prior archaeological field experience and Week 2 for those with prior experience and who wish to acquire additional skills. The field school will continue investigations of the 1844-1943 period at the retirement home of Robert Lucas, the first Territorial Governor of Iowa. The course meets M-F 8-12 and 1-5 except for Memorial Day at Plum Grove in Iowa City. Days with inclement weather will be spent in the laboratory on campus at the University. Tuition and Fees for 3 hrs. credit are the only expenses and are the same for in-state as well as out-of-state students. All tools, equipment, and note books will be provided. Students are responsible for their own lodging, meals, and transportation although we will provide help with these when needed. Parking is available
