Credits: Six transferable undergraduate or graduate credits (1) Field Work of Archaeology, (2) Chinese  Cultural History

When: July 2 to August 1, 2002

Description: Archaeological practicum course at Xi'an Jiaotong University, supplemented with guest lectures of Chinese specialists. The program is cosponsored by the Archaeological Research Institute of Shaanxi Province. It is open for undergraduate or graduate students, faculty members (colleges & high schools), high school seniors and a limited number of interested adults.

Statement: The program will introduce future scholars to the Chinese specialists in Xi'an, the cradle of the Chinese civilization, for future scholarly collaboration. With mutual respect, our program intends to replace the former "PING-PONG Diplomacy of 1970," and  serve as "diplomacy through archaeology" to maintain peace and prosperity.
