Definition: "Megaxylic" tomb in Cambridgeshire, England; circa 3000 BC, consisting of a long earthen barrow containing a large wooden chamber with five or six human burials. "Megaxylic" means "Large timbers" and it's meant to convey a "megalithic-type" tomb without "megaliths" ("large stones"). Related Resources:
