Hägerstrand Model

Definition: Theoretical model to explain the process of how innovations become diffused, that is how new ideas spread over a region. The model was developed by Swedish geographer Torsten Hägerstrand to model how modern agricultural innovations diffuse, and is used by archaeologists to understand how things changed in the past.
