• Holocene Period
 
 
Definition: The era in global history between 2.4 million years and 10,000 years ago, during which Homo sapiens evolved and started cluttering up the planet. Usually broken into Early (2.4 million to 790,000 years ago), Middle (790,000 to 130,000 years ago), and Late (130,000 to 10,000 years ago). We are currently in middle of the Holocene period.
