• Industrial Archaeology
 
 
Definition: River valley running from Wales into the English midlands, probably best thought of as the heartland of the Industrial Revolution. Significant innovations were invented here in the early 18th century, including the first use of coal as a heat source rather than charcoal, followed by the use of coke.
