Definition:
Lower Paleolithic site in Italy, occupied about 736,000±40,000 BP, with excellent faunal and floral preservation. Remains of extinct bison, rhinocerus, elephant, bear, boar, and numerous birds are represented in the assemblage, and flint tools, along with four distinct living floors.
