Definition:
Paleontologist Donald Johanson is probably best known for his discovery of the Australopithecus afarensis hominid known as Lucy; and most likely he is this well known because of his excellent general public book on the discovery. The work of Johanson and the Leakey family together did a great deal to bring the science of evolution into the understanding of us non-professional types.
