Patrick V. Kirch

Definition: American archaeologist, extensive studies throughout Polynesia and Oceania; possibly best known for his work with anthropologist Marshall Sahlins on Polynesia chiefdoms. Associated with the Bishop and Burke Museums, Kirch is a member of the faculty at the University of California at Berkeley.
