Kokorevo culture

Definition: Upper Paleolithic culture in Siberia (13,000 and 12,200 years before the present), Kokorevo sites are marked by large blade industry; these sites are considered a regional variant of Diuktai and Afonotevo cultures, and thus part of the Late or Terminal Siberian Upper Paleolithic. Named for the type site, which is in Siberia and contained evidence of butchery of a steppe buffalo (Bison priscus).

The last gasp of the Siberian upper paleolithic period (ca 18,000-11,000 BP) is an important one to understanding the colonization of the American continents.
