Definition: The principle of limited possibilities is a rebuttal argument against hyper-diffusionist theory. Basically, this argument points out that there are only so many ways to decorate a pot, or grind seeds, or build a building, and so similar structures or techniques does not automatically mean transmission of culture occurred.
