Definition:
A classic Indian text, written down in Sanskrit between 400 B.C.-100 A.D., but as with many of our ancient texts, no doubt based on much older stories. Similarities in the stories have been noted in several more recent texts, including the Welsh Mabionogion, probably dated about 1000 AD.
