• Kurgan
 
 
Definition: A large kurgan on the Belaya river in Kuban, Russia, 33 feet high, with a 656 feet circumferance; probably dated 2500-2200 BC. It was excavated by N.I. Veselovsky in 1897, long before radiocarbon dating. Two burials, the oldest of a male and two females, very rich in gold and silver.
