Mal'ta-Buret' culture

Definition: Named after the only two similar sites to have been found to date (e.g., Mal'ta and Buret', both in the Irkutsk District of Siberia), the Upper Paleolithic (ca. 28000-25000 BP) culture of Mal'ta Buret' is most famous for its dwellings constructed of large animal bones, and the presence of a number of human figurines.
