Definition: The Michelsburg Group or culture is a Neolithic culture of central Europe, located between the Rhine River and the Alps, between about 4400 and 3500 BC. Preceded by Bischeim and followed by variations on the Beaker peoples. The typesite, called Michelsburg, is in present-day Germany.
