| Guide Rating and Review: Archaeological Site Museum Shops | ||||||
by K. Kris Hirst
The Harappa Bazaar is the museum shop for the Harappa.com web site. Harappa was the ancient capital of the Indus Valley Civilizations of Pakistan and India about 2500 BC. The museum shop includes reproduction of several of the figurines, pottery, jewelry, and other artifacts recovered from the archaeological sites in the Indus Valley. Interesting gifts for archaeologists and students found in the museum include slides, books, archival film, and black and white and color copies of 19th century prints and engravings of the region. The coolest gifts include seal sets of terracotta, copper, and brass. While many of the reproductions are presently out of stock, those that are available are true to life copies, made in the original materials. Ordering can be done online or through the mail; profits are shared with the Harappa Archaeological Research Project.
