Description:

Maintain library for cultural resource firm.

Alternate Titles:

Archivist

Duties:

Maintain and catalog copies of all technical reports produced by the firm, purchase and catalog related texts for archaeologists. May also archive electronic copies of reports.

Locations:

With cultural resource firms and universities all over the world; a few specialists are located in university libraries and historical societies.

Job Type:

Varies with the location. Usually permanent, usually part time, some times with benefits.

Availability of Employment:

Very few; not all firms have librarians, university libraries and historical societies sometimes hire specialists for assistance with their collections.

Education Level Required:

Usually requires a master's degree in library science.
