The First Emperor: The Man Who Made China

Guide Rating - rating
In this exclusive video from the Discovery Channel special to be aired on Chinese New Year's, Sunday, January 29, 9-11 PM ET/PT Professor of Chinese at the University of California Jeffrey Riegel describes bronze weaponry excavated from Emperor Chin's burial chambers. With a brief appearance by Professor Yuan Zhongyi, director of the on-site museum and leader of the excavations.

Review:

This brief video clip starts and ends a bit abruptly, but the glimpse of the bronze weaponry identified in it is fascinating, as a perfectly preserved sword is seen in situ as it is discovered at the Emperor Chin's tomb, and ancient halberds are curated and preserved in the laboratory in China. Dr. Riegel describes the weaponry, translating for Professor Yuan Zhongyi.
