A total of fourteen cut nails and three cut nail fragments were recovered from the site, ranging between two and eight pennies, and possibly a few fragments from a 20d nail. Based on the number of cut nails recovered from the small portion of the site investigated, Dr. Linebaugh believes the total count of nails would be approximately 80 to 100 nails, leading him to believe that the roof of this dugout was log with minimal framing of the door, window and possible gable ends.
