The stone cairns seen in this photo are crypt burials--human remains placed in crypts within and underneath the foundations of Toucan House.
A common practice in Maya homes, indeed in prehistoric sites all over the world, was to place human remains in burials beneath house floors. Some burials were placed as dedications when the house was built; others might represent residents who died and were buried beneath the floor after the building was constructed.
Toucan House contained a total of eight burials placed beneath the floors of various rooms.
