Definition: Kathy Schick is one of the pioneers of the study of taphonomy, experimental archaeology and related investigations of the Oldowan culture of Africa. With her husband and co-director Nicholas Toth, she founded the Stone Age Institute in Bloomington, Indiana, which conducts archaeological and paleontological research all over the world. Educated at the University of California at Berkeley, Kathy Schick is currently Professor of Anthropology at Indiana University at Bloomington.
