Louis Siret

Definition: Belgian engineer Louis Siret first identified and excavated the Chalcolithic site of Los Millares, Spain, during the late 19th century. Originally hired to work at a silver mine, Siret used his own personal assets (and those of his brother Henri) to excavate at Los Millares and in Fuente Álamo in the Cuevas de Almanzora region of Almería.
